There are many types of airborne hazards, including gases, vapors, mists, fogs, fumes, and particulates. An employee’s job may require air purifying respirators, or air supplying respirators. Different types of respirators are required by state and federal OSHA in specific circumstances to provide workers with breathable, safe air.
