RV Learning Center to Host Webinar on
Dealer Compliance Issues

The RV Learning Center will present a special webinar,
"An Enhanced FTC – What Its New Investigative and Enforcement
Powers Mean to RV Dealers," on Wednesday, August 1 at 2:00 p.m. (EDT).
During the online event, RVDA’s director of legal and regulatory
affairs Brett Richardson will summarize current and
upcoming compliance obligations and point dealers to resources for more
information. There is no registration fee for RVDA member dealers.
Over the past
decade, the Federal Trade Commission and Federal Reserve have rolled out
regulations covering many aspects of dealer F&I compliance, such as
the Safeguards, Privacy, and Red Flag Rules, as well as adverse action
notices and risk based pricing notices.
"Now that Congress
has granted the FTC increased enforcement and investigative powers,
it’s a good time for dealers to review their compliance
obligations and to hear about where the FTC will likely investigate
going forward in areas such as spot deliveries and dealer participation
in financing," Richardson said.
Richardson has more
than 15 years of experience in the D.C. metro area representing
associations and small businesses and their legislative and regulatory
issues. He was in private practice before joining RVDA, and he also
worked on Capitol Hill and as an attorney for the National Automobile
Dealers Association (NADA). Richardson earned his law degree from the
University of Oklahoma and his MBA from George Mason University. He is a
Certified Association Executive (CAE).
Richardson will also
participate in a panel discussion entitled "Straight Talk on Risk
Management" on Wednesday, October 3, at the 2012 RV Dealers
International Convention/Expo. The convention will be held October 1-5
at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and is sponsored by
RVDA–The National RV Dealers Association, RVDA of Canada, and the
RV Learning Center.
The 2012 convention
will feature an exhibit hall filled with the RV industry’s top
companies offering products and services to help dealers improve
profitability. RVDA’s Partners in Progress Brand Committees will
also meet to work on important dealer/manufacturer issues.
