Recently the Federal EPA began sending out Clean Air Act Compliance Orders to collision centers. This is the first major enforcement activity KPA has seen at the federal level on 6H Paint Spraying Regulations. At least 15 states, the District of Columbia, and 140+ local governments have laws expressly prohibiting discrimination on the basis of gender identity or expression. A U.S. federal appeals court ruled recently that workplace discrimination protections already in place for sex and gender might also extend to transgender individuals. Likewise, the EEOC recently ruled that Title VII protects transgender individuals. These developments signal a sea change that will likely impact employment law in areas such as hiring, discipline, and firing decisions, personnel policies, facility access and accommodation, training, and benefits.
